Internet Usage Policy
Seville Township Library offers the public access to three terminals with internet capabilities. The library has established procedures that govern the amount of time computer users may have access—30 minutes if there is a waitlist, otherwise an hour for Adults (18+), 30 minutes for Minors (<18) unless they need to complete school work, then they can have up to 1 hour. If there is a need for a longer timeslot, the library staff must be made aware to try to accommodate reasonable requests.
The library expects internet users to comply with all federal, state, and local laws as well as the terms and policies the library has in place for internet access.
Users May Not:
- Damage computer equipment and software
- Use the computers to access the internet for illegal purposes such as: unauthorized entry into other resources; hacking and torrenting; or violating copyrights.
- Access or view information using the Library’s resources that is pornographic, obscene, harmful, or advertising a service or product that is not permitted to minors.
- Invade the privacy of others
- Install any software on the Library computers
- Engage in any activity that causes a disturbance in the library
- Engage in any activity that disrupts the operations of the network
Violations of this policy may result in loss of access and/or Seville Township Library privileges. Any unlawful activity will be dealt with in an appropriate manner.
Seville Township Library does not assume responsibility for any damage from use of the Library’s computers, network, or available Wi-Fi connection.
The Seville Township Library does not filter internet usage. Parents/Guardians are responsible for their minor’s internet usage and the library will not be held responsible for content that they may view.
